The Droid won't help Motorola -

The new Motorola Droid, which was on sale officially today, won't really save Motorola or Verizon. The new smartphone that's powered by the new google android operating system needs to be a big hit in order help Motorola and Verizon. The reviews of the Android OS have been fairly decent yet not might make the hype it has been building these past several weeks. The Droid needs to be a big hit for Motorola seeing as how the razr which was released in 2004, was the last big relevant phone they had.

  1. I understand how Motorola/Verizon is probably depending on the success of their new smartphone to increase the value of their stocks. The anticipation of the new phone is making people believe it will be a big hit. Because of this, investors will probably become more confident investing in Motorola.

  2. The new phone could really help out Motorola/Verizon, but since the phone isn't getting as much of a hype as it did before it came out could hurt them. Verizon has come to advertising about their coverage rather than the new phones they have to get more people come to their business. The razor was a big hit, and Verizon and Motorola are hoping the Droid will help their stocks and their company.
